Changing Nature of Research Partnerships for Critical Studies of Work and Learning

In this presentation we will learn about the 30+ year tradition of critical studies of workplace learning at OISE, and specifically how research partnerships and projects have co-evolved. Across a series of agreements—whether it was with trade unions, cooperatives, community-based organizations, or professional associations—we see how social, political and economic trends shaped research partnerships and in turn influenced how the subsequent scholarship unfolded. Come learn about the negotiations, the challenges and the outcomes of these efforts, and along with it, get a glimpse into what recent trends might tell us about the future in this area of study at OISE.
